How BagEngine Reads Sweepstakes Casino Terms: Method, Labels and Corrections
Every figure in BagEngine's sweepstakes casino section comes from what an operator publishes about itself, read on a stated date. This page explains how we read those pages, what each label means, what it does not mean, and how operators can correct us.
In one sentence: we read each operator's own terms, sweepstakes rules and help pages while logged out, record a figure only where the operator states it in so many words, keep the quote, the source and the date, and show "not published" rather than guessing.
What we read
For each operator we read its terms of service, its sweepstakes or promotional rules, its responsible-play page, its help center and any state-availability page it publishes. Our first full capture, on October 3, 2026, covered 77 sweepstakes casino brands. We read pages logged out, without creating accounts, making purchases, submitting forms or contacting anyone.
What our labels mean
| Label | What it means | What it does not mean |
|---|---|---|
| Verified | Stated on the operator's own terms, sweepstakes rules, help center or homepage, quoted word for word from the page we read, with the date we read it and the date on the document where one is shown. | It does not mean we tested it. It means the operator says it. |
| Not found in the pages we read | We read the operator's pages and the item was not stated on any of them. | It is not proof the operator has no policy: some terms sit behind a login or in a cashier screen we do not open. |
| Unknown | We could not read the relevant page, because it was blocked, needed a browser check, or did not load. | It is never evidence of absence. |
| Unverified | The figure comes from a third party, such as a review site or news report, not from the operator. | We show it only when no first-party source exists, and label it every time. |
What we mean by Sweeps Coins
We use "Sweeps Coins (SC)" for each operator's redeemable sweepstakes currency, whatever the operator calls it: Ruby Sweeps, for example, calls its version Emeralds. Rankings compare amounts in that currency as each operator publishes them. Where an operator publishes its currency at a different rate to the dollar, as Carnival Citi does for Sweeps Chips (1,000 per dollar) and Funzpoints does for Premium Funzpoints (100 per dollar), or states a minimum directly in dollars, we show the value in the operator's own terms and leave it out of the ranking, because no operator we checked publishes a Sweeps Coin to dollar rate that would make the comparison fair.
When an operator's own documents disagree
Operators sometimes state different things in different documents, for example one list of excluded states in their terms and a longer one in their sweepstakes rules. When that happens we show both, each with its source and date, rather than choosing one. A disagreement between an operator's own pages is itself useful to a player, and it is often the first thing an operator corrects.
How often we re-check
We re-capture operators' pages on a schedule and keep every dated capture, so a change in an operator's terms shows up as a dated change rather than a silent edit. Pages tied to a deadline, such as a state ban taking effect, are re-checked weekly until the deadline passes.
How operators can correct us
An operator can ask us to correct any figure by pointing to the page where it states the correct value, or by stating it in writing. We publish the correction with its date and source. A written statement from an operator that is not on its public pages is labelled as such. Corrections are applied the same way whether or not the operator has a commercial relationship with us.
Conflicts of interest
BagEngine may earn affiliate commissions and may sell labelled featured placements. Paid placements are labelled and never affect the ranking: rankings are sorts of the published data, and an operator moves in a ranking only when what it publishes changes. The same method, sources and schedule apply to every operator whether it pays us or not.
Why we hide offers in some states
In states where sweepstakes play is banned or under enforcement, and wherever we cannot tell which state a reader is in, our pages show status and data but no offers, sign-up links or bonus codes. Several state laws now name the publishers and affiliates of these casinos, and we would rather show less than help an operator reach a reader it may not lawfully serve.
What we do not do
- We do not claim to have tested a redemption, a payout time or a bonus unless we did, and we date it when we have.
- We do not estimate a figure an operator has not published.
- We do not list offshore or unlicensed real-money casinos for US readers.
- We do not publish content written by an operator.
