Inventory Planner alternatives for Amazon sellers (2026): six tools, priced

Two of these six, Inventory Planner itself among them, publish no price at all. Among the four that do, the entry price runs from $19 to $299 a month.

The short answer

How we built this page. We read each vendor’s published pricing page, product pages and Shopify App Store listing on 19 October 2026, checked each vendor’s site is live and still sells the product, and drew demand from the questions AI assistants cite BagEngine for. We did not buy these plans for this comparison; where a free plan or trial exists we say so, and prices are as published on the date shown.

Inventory Planner by Sage is a forecasting and replenishment tool: it predicts demand, suggests what to reorder and when, and manages stock across locations. Amazon sellers look for an alternative for three reasons: its price is quote-only, it is built for multichannel retail rather than Amazon FBA first, and smaller sellers want a published price they can budget. This page compares six tools on what each publishes about price, Amazon depth and trials, as read on 19 October 2026, and names three tools that sellers still search for but that have changed.

What is the best Inventory Planner alternative for an Amazon seller?

For a seller who is Amazon FBA first, RestockPro is the closest like-for-like alternative: eComEngine sells it to "Simplify FBA Inventory Management", with forecasting to "Restock the right amount at the right time" and purchase orders, from $49 a month with a 30-day free trial. For an Amazon brand that wants forecasting and profit in one place, SoStocked fits, from $175 a month. For a multichannel brand that left Inventory Planner because it wanted a published price, Flieber publishes $299 to $599 a month on its Shopify App Store listing.

If you are a small FBA seller

Pick RestockPro or sellerboard

Because both publish low entry prices ($49 and $19 a month) and long free trials, and both are built around Amazon data rather than retail stores.

If you are an Amazon-first brand

Pick SoStocked

Because it pairs forecasting, reorder alerts and PO creation with profit tracking across all Amazon marketplaces, and includes free data migration.

If you sell on many channels

Pick Flieber

Because it forecasts across channels and warehouses and is the multichannel option here with a published price, plus a 14-day trial.

If you run a warehouse operation

Pick Linnworks

Because it combines stock forecasting with channel integrations for Amazon and eBay and 70+ shipping providers, which a forecasting-only tool does not.

What does an inventory forecasting tool actually calculate?

Every tool on this page computes the same core number: a reorder point, the stock level at which you must place a purchase order so the new units land before you run out. It depends on how fast you sell, how long the supplier and the trip to an Amazon warehouse take (the lead time), and a buffer called safety stock for when demand or shipping runs late. The tools differ in how they forecast the selling speed and how much of the purchase order they write for you.

MechanismHow a reorder point prevents a stockout
How a reorder point worksStock on hand falls as units sell. When it crosses the reorder point an order is placed; the order lands one lead time later, ideally while stock is still above safety stock. In the second cycle demand doubles, stock reaches zero before the order lands, and the listing is out of stock until it arrives.stock on handtimestockoutlead timesteady demanddemand doubles
A conceptual drawing, not data: stock falls as units sell, an order goes out at the reorder point and lands one lead time later. In the second cycle demand doubles, stock hits zero before the order lands, and the listing sits out of stock. Forecasting tools exist to move the reorder point before that happens.

The second cycle is the case these tools are bought for. A spreadsheet that uses last month’s average keeps the old reorder point when sales double; a forecasting tool that reads the trend raises the reorder point early, so the order goes out sooner.

Why do sellers look for an Inventory Planner alternative?

Price transparency is the first reason. Inventory Planner by Sage’s Shopify App Store listing says "Pricing adapts to your business needs. Contact us to get a quote.", and its own pricing page was closed to our reader on 19 October 2026. A seller comparing options cannot put a quote-only tool next to published prices without a sales call.

Fit is the second. Inventory Planner by Sage describes itself as helping "forecast demand with precision, automate replenishment, and manage multi-location stock", which suits a retailer with several warehouses. An Amazon FBA seller often wants the opposite emphasis: FBA inbound limits, Amazon fees and per-SKU profit next to the reorder suggestion, which is where sellerboard, RestockPro and SoStocked focus.

The alternatives compared: price, FBA depth and forecasting

Inventory Planner by Sage

The tool these replace

Inventory Planner by Sage stays a strong choice for multi-location retailers: demand forecasting, automated replenishment and multi-location stock, with expert-led onboarding. Its price depends on the volume of inventory you manage, so ask for a quote before you switch away; it may beat an alternative at your size.

How do the price models compare?

The six tools price in four different ways, which is why a single "cheapest" answer misleads. sellerboard charges by orders a month and RestockPro by FBA orders a month, so both grow with sales. SoStocked publishes a starting price. Flieber prices by feature tier on the App Store. Inventory Planner by Sage and Linnworks quote per business. Compare them at your own monthly order count, not at the entry tier.

How do you switch inventory tools without a stockout?

The risk in switching is not the software but the gap: a week where the old tool is cancelled and the new one still has the wrong lead times. Run both tools in parallel inside the new tool’s free trial, compare their reorder suggestions on your best sellers, and only cancel the old plan once the first purchase orders from the new tool have landed.

Switch planMove forecasting tools without a stockout
BEFORE YOU CANCEL THE OLD TOOL
[ ] Export: SKU list, supplier list, lead times, case packs, open POs
[ ] Note each SKU's current reorder point and safety stock setting
[ ] Note open inbound shipments to FBA and their expected dates

RUN BOTH IN PARALLEL (2 to 4 weeks, inside the new tool's trial)
[ ] Connect Amazon (and any other channel) to the new tool
[ ] Re-enter lead times; do not trust defaults
[ ] Compare the two tools' reorder suggestions for your top 20 SKUs
[ ] Investigate every SKU where they disagree by more than one case pack

CUT OVER
[ ] Place the next round of POs from the new tool only
[ ] Keep the old tool's last export for 90 days
[ ] Cancel the old subscription after the first POs from the new tool land

Who we have a relationship with

BagEngine has a commercial relationship with sellerboard and may earn from the sellerboard link on this page. That relationship does not set its position: the table is ordered by published price model, and every price comes from the vendor’s own page.

Bottom line

The bottom line

If Inventory Planner by Sage is a fit for your channels, ask it for a quote before you leave, because its price scales with your inventory and may beat a published tier. If you are Amazon FBA first and want a number you can budget, RestockPro (from $49 a month) and sellerboard (from $19) are the low-cost routes, SoStocked is the Amazon brand suite, and Flieber is the multichannel option with a published price. Whatever you choose, switch inside a free trial and run both tools side by side until the first new purchase orders land.
